Philip Teague

Philip is a dual US/UK-qualified financial adviser. He has worked in financial services since 2001 when he joined Abbey National. His interest in cross border financial planning started in 2007 after he started with AWD, at the time Europe’s largest financial advisory firm.

In 2012 Philip was invited to join the Alexander Beard Group to manage their Expat and Emigration Division. One of his major achievements was the creation of a US / UK cross border financial planning service. Philip is highly experienced in private financial planning for British expats, US / UK cross border financial planning and the structuring of pension assets for non-UK beneficiaries of court ordered pension-sharing orders.

Outside of work, Philip has a young family that plays a lot of cricket and keeps him on his toes. He has lost count of the number of times Watford FC has been promoted and demoted so has now opted to support Somerset Cricket Club as watching them is much less stressful!

Olwen Linge

Olwen Linge

Olwen has over 30 years experience working in Financial Services working first at Barclays Bank and then Sanlam UK.

Her responsibility at Cross Border is to provide support to the advisers whilst ensuring the day-to-day administration and customer service we provide is efficient and professional and exceeds client expectations.

Outside of work, Olwen enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She’s an active member of a local Book Club and also enjoys visiting the theatre, exhibitions and going to the gym.

Charles Homer

Charles Homer

Charles has been in the financial services industry since 2016. He joined Cross Border Financial Planning in October 2021, having previously worked for a number of financial planning firms.

Charles is a fully qualified UK adviser and has previous experience of advising private clients on all aspects of financial planning. Charles holds the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. Currently, he is working towards the Advanced Diploma, having already completing advanced papers in Financial Planning and Personal Tax and Trust Planning.

Outside of work and further studying Charles likes to socialise with friends and keep fit by attempting to play football.

Mike McGregor

Cross Border Financial Planner

Mike entered the world of financial planning in 2021. He completed the CII’s Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning before joining the team at Cross Border Financial Planning in 2023.

Being married to an American introduced Mike to the complexities facing Americans abroad when it comes to their finances. This personal experience sparked his interest in the niche area of expat financial planning, leading him to become both US and UK qualified.

In addition to being Level 4 qualified in the UK, Mike has also completed the American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) Series 65 exam.

 Mike is based in our London office, making it easy for UK-based clients to meet face-to-face or arrange calls at convenient times. Being located in London also allows Mike to connect regularly with other professionals—such as tax advisers, accountants, and legal experts—to help ensure his clients receive coordinated, well-rounded advice.

Outside of work, Mike enjoys traveling with his wife, playing guitar, and trying to make it to the gym where possible!

Josh Farmer

Cross Border Financial Planner

Josh is the newest addition to the team, joining in February 2025 with five years of experience in financial services. He previously worked for a large national advice firm, gaining valuable exposure to international clients and cross-border financial matters. He is UK diploma qualified and is currently working towards both UK chartered status and US qualification to further enhance his expertise in global financial planning.

Passionate about holistic financial planning, Josh specialises in helping US individuals navigate the intricacies of international finance, including tax considerations, investment strategies, and regulatory requirements. His client-focused approach ensures tailored financial solutions that provide clarity, security, and long-term success.

Based in Bath, Josh leads an active lifestyle and enjoys spending his free time playing squash and mountain biking. He believes that balance is key—both in life and in financial planning—ensuring clients achieve their goals with confidence and peace of mind.

Alex Mackintosh

Data Analyst Manager

Alex began working as a procurement analyst in 2021 and recently transitioned to the financial industry, joining CBFP. His current role involves maintaining and improving data handling processes.

Stemming from his scientific education, he is motivated to spot opportunities and see where this road leads.

From following football to avidly birdwatching, Alex is never short of conversation – for better or worse! Any remaining excess energy is channelled into the gym.

Sophie Ayliffe

Sophie joined our team in April 2021, at the start of her financial services journey.

Her role is to support the team with day-to-day administration. She is keen to undertake further study to make career progression within Cross Border Financial Planning.

Outside of work, Sophie enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is always keen to experience adventure and also enjoys a good Netflix series.

Lucy Mack

Marketing & Business Support

Lucy joined the team towards the end of 2023.

Her role is to support the team with day-to-day administration. She is also taking on key marketing responsibilities to streamline our business development.

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys surfing, climbing, and any form of outdoor adventuring.
